TopoMan WCE privacy policy
What the TopoMan WCE app does with your data. In short: your projects stay on your device, and only what is needed to activate and renew the subscription goes to the server, along with some technical details of the device.

Who is responsible
Ronald Miguel Mancía, surveyor, El Salvador. For any question about this policy write to [email protected].
What stays on your device
The programs you install, your projects, your points, your audio notes, the ports and the settings live in the app folder, on your device. The app does not send them to any server and makes no cloud copies. They only leave if you share or copy them.
Uninstalling the app deletes them, unless you agree to keep the data when Android offers it.
What leaves your device
All of it is encrypted, to lic.topoman.net:
- When asking for the activation code: your email. A six-digit code reaches that email.
- When linking the device: your email, that code, the device identifier and the device sheet.
- When renewing, in the background and at most every 12 hours: the device identifier, the key of that link, the date your device has and the sheet.
- When releasing the device: the identifier and the key of the link.
- If you have no license: once a day, when the app opens, the identifier and the sheet without the make or model, to know how many devices are trying it.
The sheet is this: the system and its Android version, the processor architecture, how stable the identifier is, the app version, its language, how it was installed, and the make and model of the device. The server adds the country you connected from, as the network reports it, without keeping the address.
For updates, the app checks the list of versions at descargas.topoman.net in the background, at most every 12 hours or when you ask, without sending any data of yours, and downloads the new version if you want it.
The device identifier
It is a digest that cannot be reversed, calculated from the Widevine identifier if the device has it, or otherwise from the Android identifier for this app. It is used to count the data collectors or phones with TopoMan WCE on your subscription and gives no access to anything on the device.
What is not sent
- Your projects, points, coordinates or files.
- Your location.
- Your audio notes.
- Which Windows Mobile programs you have installed.
- Your contacts, photos or emails.
The app has no advertising and no third-party analytics services.
The permissions, and what each one is for
- Location: so the device GPS reaches the program as a COM port, and to search for Bluetooth devices on Android 8 to 11, which require it. The position stays on the device.
- Nearby devices (Bluetooth): to find and connect your instruments.
- Microphone: for the program's audio notes, and it is asked the first time it records.
- Internet: to activate, renew and update the app, and for the programs' connections, such as NTRIP corrections. It can be cut per program in Settings.
- Installing and uninstalling apps: for updates and for each program's shortcut in the Android app drawer. Android asks you to confirm each time.
Who else is involved
- Cloudflare, where the license server and the downloads run.
- Resend, which delivers the email with the code.
- n1co, which processes the subscription payment on its own page, as the website policy says.
How long it is kept, and how to delete it
The daily record of use and of devices on trial deletes itself after 400 days. Your email, your devices and their renewals are kept to look after your subscription and any claim about it.
You can release a device from the app itself. And to ask what there is about you or to have it deleted, write to [email protected]. Without that data the subscription cannot be renewed.
Children
TopoMan WCE is a professional surveying tool. It is not aimed at children under thirteen and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If the app changes what it does with data, this page is updated with the date above.
